Board President
Dr. Robert Chisholm, D.D.S. email
Dr. Chisholm graduated from San Francisco State University in 1967 and from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1971. From 1972 to the present he has operated a private Dental practice in Fremont, California. He served on the Sunol Glen school board for 7 years in various capacities. While on that board he voted to grant the BASIS charter. In 2002 he resigned from the Sunol Glen school board to serve as the BASIS, Inc. Board President. Dr. Chisholm has been a tireless supporter of BASIS, now FAME, and the education of children. His dedication to our program is commendable and his efforts have helped to make FAME the quality school it is today.

Mike Cerny email
Mike has served on school boards for more than 30 years in a variety of capacities. While serving on the Alameda County Special Education board he became one of five founding board members of the Tri-Valley Special Education SELPA which has become a model for the State of California and school districts nationwide. His concern and dedication to children is evidenced not only by serving on school boards but by his 25 year involvement with 4-H and projects working with young people through Juvenile Hall. He was a founding board member of the Bay Area School of Independent Study which is now FAME Public Charter School. He continues his service to children by steadfastly promoting the growth and development of our school.

Dimitri Kastriotis
Mr. Kastriotis has always been a strong supporter of education and was actively involved with his own children's schools, teachers and education. Having worked in large international corporations and owned and operated his own shipping firm, he has expert knowledge of business management and operations. He draws on these many years of experience to support the development and implementation of the business practices of the school. His participation on FAME's Board enables him to engage in the future of young people and to use his extensive expertise to promote a school that instills in every student the craving to learn, to explore, to question, and to reason.

Iqbal K. Khattak email
Mr. Khattak graduated from CSU East Bay with a M.S. in Chemistry in 1999. Since 1999, he has been working at Applied Biosystems as a Senior Scientist. He has also taught chemistry at Ohlone College. Currently he is a member of Science Advisory Committee for Ohlone College, Fremont, CA. He comes from a rural area of the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan. He came to Fremont 24 years ago and has two sons and two daughters. He spends his free time with his children playing and reading. Whenever time permits, he collects educational books and sends them to Pakistan to help the teachers at schools, colleges and universities in updating their curriculums.
