Parent Resources

FAME feels strongly that parents should participate in their child’s education.  There are a lot of opportunities and ways for parents to be involved.  Parents can volunteer in the classroom, become a member of the Parent Teacher Organization, or participate on the School Site Council.  They can also lead extracurricular activities, sports and clubs.  Outside of volunteering, the next best thing that parents can do to support their student is to be informed about programs and activities available to their children.

California Content Standards:  All core coursework at FAME Independent Study based on the California Content Standards.  Standards have been developed by grade and your classroom teacher can advise you regarding your student’s progress towards mastering the content standards.  Use this link for more info:  http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci

After School Activities: We suggest classes at Community Centers, YMCA/YWCA, Parks and Recreation Associations, and City Youth Sports
